Indiana residents always join the more than 100,000 visitors to Kentucky's annual celebration of world heritage. WorldFest 2009 is set for 4-5 September at the Belvedere alongside the Ohio River in downtown Louisville (which is, of course, right across from the Hoosier state). Flamenco, Middle Eastern, Bolivian and Caribbean bands are promised, along with more than 30 booths in an international bazaar offering plenty of shopping for handmade styles and keepsakes from all across the globe. At the end of the festivities, a naturalization ceremony welcomes about 300 new American citizens, followed by a parade that represents more than 50 countries.(Don't forget that Indiana's International Festival is coming up in November!)
