South Central Officials Return From Japan Trade Mission

Representatives of the South Central Indiana Economic Development Group (SCIEDG) believe a recent trade mission to Japan has helped plant seeds for further growth and reinvestment, reports Inside INdiana Business. The delegation met with more than 10 Japanese executives whose companies have facilities in Indiana. Madison Mayor Tim Armstrong along with economic development officials from a handful of counties made the trip.

Grote Industries Moves from Spain to Germany

Grote Industries, a producer of LED lighting technology, has announced the relocation of its European headquarters from Spain to Niederwinkling, near Straubing, Germany. In addition to its world headquarters in Madison, Indiana, Grote maintains facilities in Canada, Mexico and Asia and had conducted its European operations from Spain since 2005.

Indiana Mayors Visiting Japan

Mayor Tim Armstrong, City of Madison; Mayor Doug England, New Albany; and Mayor Craig Leudeman, Seymour are leading a trade mission to Japan with the South Central Indiana Economic Development Group, according to Inside INdiana Business. Receptions have been held in Nagoya and in Tokyo.

Other Mission Members include: Kathy Ertel, Jennings County Economic Development Corporation; Matt Hall, One Southern Indiana; Corey Murphy, Madison, Jefferson Co. Economic Development Corporation; Jim Plump, Jackson County Industrial Development Corporation; Darrell Voelker, Harrison County Economic Development Corporation; Charles Corbin, Dunlap & Company; Gary Shelley, Duke Energy and Tamayo Fukumoto, Japan-America Society of Indiana.
